Day # 7 - Living A Life of Gratitude

Continuing in our 30 day challenge of  Being Thankful....

I am thankful for my In-laws! (In LOVE)

They are here today to be a part of the girls Veteran's Day assembly -- it was so awesome to see the Patriotism and honoring of those who have and are serving to protect our country at this assembly.

Grandpa served in the Navy  It was so much fun to watch him today feel so honored.

My in-laws (in-loves) are loving, giving, and most honorable people. I am so honored to be part of this family!

Roots

Like branches on a tree,
We may grow in different directions,
yet our roots remain as one.
Each of our lives will always be
a special part of the other.

Day #6 - Giving Thanks, Living A Life of Gratitude

Continuing in our 30 day challenge of  Being Thankful....

I am thankful for my church family. The love , sacrifice, caring, friendship, grace that they have poured into and upon my family has been tremendous. We are so blessed and grateful.

My family is gone through a lot these past several years --- and through those rough times, our church family has been a support to us.

We are thankful.

Day #5 - Giving thanks, Living a Life with Gratitude

Continuing in our 30 day challenge of  Being Thankful....

God is good.  All the time.  All the time. God is good.
He is faithful. He is trustworthy.  He is present.  He is compassionate. He is glorious.
His mercies are new, Every. Single. Morning.

Sometimes our expectations get in the way…we think things should happen this way or that!... Some days, I can get bogged down in the frustration of my humanity, my "so not perfectness."
God is not limited by time, season or process. The only limitation is when what He gives us falls on deaf ears or an unreceiving heart ruled by apathy, doubt and unbelief. Even then all we have to do is turn in His direction to find grace and mercy in our time of need. Truly He is closer than a breath away…for He is Christ in us. Wow…a true Selah moment if there ever was one.
There are those days where I go to bed at night feeling like I just failed.... broken and overwhelmed with stuff....  And, by grace God reminds me over and over that HE supplies all my needs and provides strength, endurance for all my days.
I am thankful there is a tomorrow.  I am thankful HIS mercies are new every morning.....

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”  – Lamentations 3:22-23

Day #3 - Thankfulness - Living with Gratitude

Continuing in our 30 day challenge of  Being Thankful....

Let's Give Thanks today! #3 --- Today I am thankful for some of the little simple things... like kleenex. My daughter has a runny nose and kleenex is so much more appreciated than the back of the hand or sleeve. What are you thankful for today?

Be Thankful - Living With Gratitude (Day 2)

Continuing in our 30 day challenge of  Being Thankful....

Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. ~ Colossians 2:7 (NLT)

I am thankful for the WORD.....
In all honesty, it has been a challenge for me to sink into God's Word over the past several years -- being a Mama, I get busy, distracted, lazy, tired... you name it!  However,  I know (in my mind - but, not always  in my actions) that the more I am rooted in Christ and building into a deeper relationship with HIM, the more blessings I receive, and the more I am willing to give him praises and glorify HIM with thankfulness...

It is hard.   The desire is there.   The discipline is not.

But, I am THANKFUL that no matter what --  no matter how often I fail -- no matter how much time I have wasted -- no matter the gap between me and the LORD (the gap that I have placed)... HIS WORD is ever true and always, always there.

HE is the LIVING WORD.... always present, always good, always loving, always forgiving....FULL OF GRACE.

Thank you Lord for giving us your WORD -- hope.  grace.   love.

Happy Lilac

I have had a lilac bush (stick with leaves) for about 8 years.  I got the lilac stem from my parent's yard.  I planted it in a pot and there it stayed -- for 8 years. I never replanted it.  It never bloomed.  I kept hoping it would and then I thought maybe it never will be a blooming bush.  Until now...

...we think it broke through the pot and found fresh earth. It was probably delighted with the fresh earth and therefore, put out lovely flowers for me to enjoy.  They make me happy and so peaceful inside.  Really, I was giddy when I saw them.

Thank you Lord, for refreshingly "new".... the beauty You have created is beyond amazing. I am in awe of Your handiwork.

THANKFUL Day 2

I am thankful for my husband.

Proverbs 12:4
A wife of noble character is her husband's crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.

Proverbs 31:23
Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

THANKFUL Day 1

I am thankful for our home.

Psalm 84:3
Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young— a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God.

Proverbs 3:33
The LORD's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.

Joshua 24:15
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
