My Sweet Sophia turns 5 years old today.
Five years ago I began this journey of motherhood; five years later I am still navigating the way with you in the lead.
You no longer have the short bowed little legs, with the dimpled fat on your thighs that is perfect for kissing. Now, you are able to express your ideas very clearly, play games, ride a bike w/training wheels, sing and dance...
I love that you like to cuddle. You tell me, "I want to hold your neck." So, then you fall asleep with your arm or hand on my neck. I love to watch you sleep with your little open heart lips and peaceful eyelids shut. You are too sweet for mere words to describe.
You are a girly girl! You love to do all things "girly": paint fingernails, do your hair with lots of clips or headband, dance and twirl, pretend to be a princess, fall in love with your neighbor boy, ride a pink bike. Go shopping for clothes. Pick out the outfits for you and your sister to wear each day. You love skirts or dresses! You create glamorous outfits with all your dress up clothes. Your favorite colors are pink, red, purple, and yellow.
You are Drama Princess! You never stop talking or singing or twirling. Your imagination is priceless. There is never a part of our day that you have involved us in some sort of made up story or adventure. I love your creativity with the stories you tell.
Five years ago, my heart just melted when I held you in my arms. I will never be the same. You are very sweet and special to me.
Happy 5th birthday, my oldest daughter. You are treasure a gift! I thank God everyday for blessing me with you.
